The Benefits of a Multidisciplinary Lens for Artificial Intelligence Systems Ethics

This paper serves as an introductory overview to provide information and insight on current trends about how to best educate on subjects relating to the ethics of designing and using artificial intelligence system(s) (AIS).1 As AI ethics educators (a term used throughout this paper to designate our committee members working in various academic, corporate, and policy-based realms at the front lines of creating awareness on how to implement AIS in an ethical manner), utilize a globally-adopted approach such as IEEE’s Ethically Aligned Design (EAD) and infuse these principles within our coursework.
