Privacy by Design Lab (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kohei Kurihara) is pleased to announce that Mr. Tsukumo Mizushima has assumed the position of Senior Executive Advisor effective June 1, 2025.
With the participation of Mr. Mizushima, who possesses extensive experience in the personal information protection industry, Privacy by Design Lab will further strengthen its activities to realize the “sustainable internet society” it advocates.

- Senior Executive Advisor, Privacy by Design Lab Association (NPO)
He is currently serving as a Commissioner of the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan, a position he assumed in July 2025.
Before that, three years at JIPDEC with contributions to the APEC CBPR certification program, service as a CBPR certification assessor, and participation as a Japanese member of the OECD BIAC and as Secretariat of the ISO 31700 committee, among other responsibilities.
Earlier, extensive experience at NEC Corporation, a leading Japanese IT company, including over a decade focused on personal data protection, primarily as Head of the Security Office, leading global compliance initiatives in information security and AI governance, among other areas.
